The Community Shop was officially opened by Bishop Tim Thornton on Monday 20th July 2015 to a packed audience.
After a speech by Rev. Anne Brown, prizes were handed out to the children for their artwork advertising the opening and each of those that helped in bringing the shop to fruition were presented with a commemorative mug. The Post Office opened on the 10th of September.
A gallant effort was made by the volunteers and although there was a steady stream of regular customers, the shop failed to attract the numbers to keep it viable and as a result the shop closed its doors for the last time on Friday 26th May 2017.
